Pasture-Raised Half Lamb Share — $300

Our Katahdin hair sheep spend their lives on rotational pasture in Northeast Georgia, grazing diverse grasses and forbs from the day they’re born. They’re handled with care, processed at a USDA-inspected facility, and vacuum-sealed and labeled for your freezer and favorite lamb recipes.

We offer a limited number of shares each summer. When they’re gone, they’re gone until next year.

$100 non-refundable deposit due at reservation to hold your spot. The remaining $200 balance is due at pickup. Your price for the half share is fixed at $300 regardless of the animal’s final size — no surprises, no math, just good meat.

Processor fee: $60, paid directly by you to the processor. When your lamb is ready for processing, you’ll pay the cut-and-wrap fee directly to the USDA facility. We will place your order and fill out the cut sheet on your behalf and you will pay the processor directly. This is standard practice for farm-direct meat and keeps everything transparent — no hidden fees on our end.

Your total all-in cost: $360 for 15–20 lbs of pasture-raised lamb.

What’s in a Half Share

A half lamb share yields approximately 15–20 lbs of packaged, take-home meat. Every share includes a variety of cuts — here’s what a standard half, and our recommendation of cuts, typically looks like:

  • Leg of lamb — the showstopper. Great roasted low and slow or butterflied on the grill.
  • Shoulder roast — rich, flavorful, and perfect for braising or slow cooking.
  • Lamb chops — rib or loin chops, depending on cut selection.
  • Ground lamb — incredibly versatile. Burgers, meatballs, shepherd’s pie, keema.
  • Stew meat — cubed and ready for your favorite braise or stew.

Prefer something different? A custom cut sheet is available if you’d like to specify your cuts — just let us know when you reserve and we’ll walk you through it.Freezer space tip: Plan for about 1.5 cubic feet of freezer space for a half share. For visual reference, 1.5 cubic feet is approximately the same dimensions as the interior of your microwave.

Step 3 — We’ll keep you updated

Why Our Lamb

A few things that set Deer Creek Pastures lamb apart from what you’ll find at the grocery store:

Katahdin hair sheep are a breed selected for exactly this climate and this purpose — mild-flavored, well-muscled, and naturally parasite-resistant. If you’ve ever found lamb too gamey, Katahdin is often the reason people change their minds.

Rotational grazing means our sheep are always on fresh pasture, never standing on the same patch of ground. This is better for the soil, better for the animal, and produces more nutrient-dense meat.

USDA-inspected processing means your meat is handled by a licensed facility with federal oversight — the same standard as any meat you’d buy at a grocery store, just with a much shorter supply chain.

A fixed price means no surprises. You know your cost the moment you reserve. No waiting to find out what the animal weighed, no unexpected adjustments. $300 + $60 for processing is your number, period. You know exactly where it came from. That’s the whole point.
